Classical Piano Course

WE HELP YOU PLAY THE MUSIC YOU WANT TO PLAY

Whether you want to emulate a favorite piano style, play a favorite song, perform classical masterpieces, arrange a trendy pop song, or get an official qualification—we have many courses to help you get the most out of learning. In all our courses, we use the curriculum and original teaching materials developed by Yamaha's know-how cultivated over 60 years, with some courses using commercially available song collections. Our courses provide rewarding lessons by highly skilled instructors auditioned and trained by Yamaha. Yamaha Music School makes your desire to play come true.

Yamaha's Unique Program

1. Lesson materials

Yamaha’s unique curriculum has been designed with the philosophy of wanting everyone to enjoy music. Our instruction is based around original curriculum and teaching materials we’ve developed through more than 60-years’ experience. We also offer realistic audio accompaniment developed exclusively for our lessons that you can play along with, like in live performances, and for home practice.

2. Wide variety of lesson styles

Our lesson formats are tailored to the course, from group lessons* where you can relax with your fellow students having the same interests and enjoy ensemble playing, as well as individual lessons that progress according to your personal wishes and goals, and online lessons where you can receive instruction without going to the lesson venue (suitable online environment required). * Group lessons are held with an appropriately small number of students.

3. Yamaha Grade Examination

Yamaha Grade Examinations help you as a music learner to confirm your musical abilities and encourage you to gain well-rounded musical skills, so that you can fully enjoy creating and performing music.

4. Concert

We hold special presentations and events for each classroom and course as an opportunity for you to demonstrate the skills you’ve gained in the lessons. The pleasantly tense excitement of the performance and the sense of fulfilment it creates are invaluable. * Presentations may not be held depending on the particular classroom or course.

For those who want someday to play classical masterpiece

The materials include famous classical pieces and exercises for helping you master them. With a curriculum that allows you to comprehensively learn performance techniques, our goal is to enable you to expressively perform a wide variety of classical pieces. You’ll learn solfege for recognizing and singing the sound names, master the intervals of the keyboard for playing chords to support the melody, and effectively use richly recorded reference audio to aid your home learning. If you’re a Piano Fundamental Course graduate, you’ll consult with your instructor to determine the steps you’ll take in the Pianoforte series lessons.
